Mugwort:
– Eliminates internal parasites, particularly Visceral Leishmaniasis.
– Exhibits antiparasitic effects, reducing the risk of contracting visceral leishmaniasis.
In the study, animals infected with visceral leishmaniasis were administered Artemisia annua, resulting in a parasite clearance rate of 88-91% and a significant reduction in spleen and liver weight. Furthermore, there were no toxic effects on liver and kidney functions. Artemisia annua contains abundant camphor-rich essential oil, which exhibits significant antiparasitic effects against visceral leishmania, providing animals with antileishmanial activity.
