Enterococcus faecium:

Produces a low affinity PBP 5 (Penicillin-Binding Protein 5), which confers high-level resistance to cephalosporins, oxacillin, and monobactams, as well as increased resistance to penicillins and carbapenems. Additionally, PBP 5 increases resistance to penicillin and carbapenem class drugs.
